1. Antioxidant Activity:
Dihydromyricetin at a purity of 98% significantly inhibits the formation of malondialdehyde (MDA) in homogenates of rat myocardial, hepatic, and brain tissues, with the inhibitory effect increasing in proportion to the concentration of dihydromyricetin. Dihydromyricetin at a purity of 99% exhibits a notable scavenging effect on 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radicals in the test system. Dihydromyricetin also significantly inhibits MDA generation in oils and fats, with the antioxidant effect enhancing as purity increases from 60% to 90%. It demonstrates potent antioxidant activity in both animal and vegetable oils.

2. Antimicrobial Activity:
Dihydromyricetin exhibits inhibitory effects against Bacillus subtilisStaphylococcus aureusSalmonella spp., Escherichia coliEnterobacter aerogenesSaccharomyces cerevisiaeRhodotorula glutinisPenicillium spp., Aspergillus nigerAspergillus flavusMucor spp., and Rhizopus spp. Its antimicrobial activity is particularly pronounced against Gram-positive and Gram-negative cocci and bacilli.

3. Hepatoprotective Effect:
Dihydromyricetin helps protect the liver by accelerating the rapid breakdown of acetaldehyde — the metabolite of ethanol — into non-toxic substances, thereby reducing damage to liver cells. With both rapid onset and sustained duration of action, dihydromyricetin serves as an excellent product for liver protection, alcohol detoxification, and hangover relief.
